This Trompe L’Oeil oil painting is all about our favorite cowboy, Howdy Doody. With his patent, and accessories you can see how to make a cowboy. What cowboy is complete without his badge, handkerchief, garters, boots and plaid shirt? He is shown hanging from a rustic wood panel . Howdy was the first tv character to have a copyright. This painting has been shown in several juried exhibits winning awards each time.

This 23” x 17” (approximate image area)  print is on high-grade Epson Enhanced Matte paper for the price of $175 plus $10 shipping/handling, a total of $185. Aces and Eights by K Henderson

Aces and Eights is known as the Dead Man’s Hand in a two-pair poker hand. The hand gets its name from the legend of it being the five-card-draw hand held by Wild Bill Hickok at the time of his murder (August 2, 1876). It is accepted that the hand included the aces and eights of both the black suits. There is still debate about what the 5th card was.

Cordial Cherry by K Henderson

I don’t know if I wanted to simply capture the beauty of the cordial cherry or if I was just looking for an excuse to buy myself a box of chocolates! Yum!

Jack in the Box

Jack-in-the-Box is oil on masonite, 16″ x 18″.

 The toys are from my collection of early 20th century toys. The toys include a jack-in-the-box, a spinning top, alphabet blocks, and a jointed doll with a china head. Also in the painting is an antique book.
