Gumballs and Crystal study, 6 x 6, oil on cradled board

I don’t usually paint this small but I’m fascinated by artists that do. I thought I would give it a try and do a study for a larger painting. I’m glad I did because I’ve decided to change the lighting for the Big Painting. But this was fun.

November 22, 2010

Red Globe II, oil on linen, 30 x 30

I haven’t painted Stripes and silver  for a while and thought it was about time to revisit this subject matter.  The still life had a brass goblet in it but I decided not to paint it. The gold reflections still remain in the bowl adding additional color and design.

Hopping Crow – Vintage Toy

November 7, 2010

Hopping Crow, 10 x 8, oil on board. I wanted to take a break from my larger work and paint something small and fun. This little fellow is a tin wind-up toy from my vintage toy collection. I hope to use him in a larger painting soon.
