Monopoly Game by K Henderson

Monopoly Game, 12 x 9, oil on cradled board

I often like the box the game comes in better than the game itself. The instructions in this box are dated 1951.

I included the red dice because I like the way the light shines through. And I’ve always been fascinated by the detail in the little shoe.

Which is your favorite Monopoly playing piece?

Red Globe II

Red Globe II, oil on linen, 30 x 30

Stripes and silver and red: My favorites! I’ve been working on this painting, off and on, for a while now and I’m pleased with the results.

The still life had a brass goblet which you don’t see. The gold reflections still remain in the bowl adding additional color and design.

Can’t make it to Boston? See the show Online

I had a great time painting this photorealism still life. The striped background with the red and green striped candy and glass atlas jars along with their reflections was a wonderful challenge. I’m pleased with the results.

This Trompe L’oeil painting has Valentines of Superman and Lois Lane from the 1940’s and ’50’s. I’ve combined them with a heart shaped sucker with cellophane, a red ribbon, red hearts and a silver heart reflecting the blue sky
